Fashionistas Item Guide

Every Fashionista should have or invest in:

BlackBerry

Used by many career-minded intellectuals in the world of fashion and business, especially the ones that starts out as an intern or assistant. This is due to the amount of daily tasks that are required to be met. Everything that you need to survive in the world of fashion is in the palm of your hand. The features include sending emails to PR companies to internet faxing. If you want to be a girly and fashionable, then I would recommend buying the pink blackberry phone or you could get the original chic black colour or the Swarovski styled red BlackBerry phone which I like the most.

Sunglasses

Extremely popular since the 1940s. Anna Wintour made it possible to wear at fashion shows. You definitely need to have a pair of sunglasses preferably black for simplicity. Can be used as a social boost to mingle around with important people at various events, such as New York Fashion.

Starbucks

This keeps every fashionistas going through those hectic schedules and long hours. Hot chocolate with cream? Iced Vanilla Latte? Frappuccino? Whatever floats your boat! And if you begin working in the fashion world the first thing that you will be doing for the next couple of weeks is getting Starbucks for everyone making sure it’s up to their standard because if it’s not then you may get on their bad side. But on the bright side, it makes you feel professional holding that special white cup around the place, feeling part of the crowd. Good old Starbucks!

Heels
The higher the better! Must be able to walk in heels and have a number of various styles, colours, and shapes.

'It Bag'
Are a must for every fashionistas! The term arose in the fashion world during 1990s and still used now. The most popular designs that I found include the following:

Fendi Spy Bag

Balenciaga Motorcycle

Chanel 2.55

Louis Vuttion Speedy

Marc Jacobs Stam

Prada Fairy Bag

YSL Downtown

If you can’t afford these bags then you can rent them at this American site called www.bagborroworsteal.com, unfortunately they don’t ship internationally. The bags on the site can be rented for either a week or a month and people will think that you can afford every single It Bag out there. There is also a UK site called www.fashionhire.co.uk where a range of designer bags can be hired per months. All of the bags are 100% genuine so get renting!

Last But NOT LEAST....

20th Century Fashion £9.95 by
Valerie Mendes & Amy de la Haye

From the turn-of the century S-bend silhouette to the bumsters and bustiers of the 1990s, this concise and comprehensive survey explores all the significant developments in fashion across the 20th century. The authors focus on key movements and innovations in clothing for both men and women and explore these through the work of the most original and influential designers and couturiers.

Chapters are organized around crucial shifts in style and major world events, placing revolutionary fashion developments in historical context. International in scope, the book encompasses all the century’s most important designers and fashion centres alongside developments in accessories, hairstyles and make-up. Mass production, advances in man-made fibres, the growth of ready-to-wear and the influence of postwar subcultural styles on contemporary fashion are also discussed.
